Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join the Virtual and Augmented Reality group within the Faculty of Computer Science, focusing on a PhD project integrated into the STIMULATE research campus. The core mission involves pioneering research and development in medical visualization using VR/AR technologies. Specifically, the role centers on creating novel visualization methods, with a strong emphasis on volumetric and context-adaptive visualization of medical data for direct use in surgical decision-making processes. Candidates must possess a university degree (Master's/Diploma) in Computer Science, Visual Computing, Medical Technology, or a related field, coupled with experience in 3D data handling, VR/AR prototyping (e.g., Unity), and conducting user studies. This position offers the chance to collaborate closely with medical professionals and contribute significantly to cutting-edge human-machine interaction research.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree (Diploma/Master) in Computer Science, Design, Computer Visualistics, Medical Technology, Visual Computing, Media Informatics, or a related field (required for PhD position)
Experience
- Experience with 3D data, medical image data, or volumetric datasets
- Experience in VR/AR prototyping and software development (e.g., Unity)
- Experience in the planning, execution, and evaluation of user studies
- Strong interest in scientific visualization, information visualization, or visual computing
