Research Associate / PhD Student (Computer Science / Mobility Systems) | Informatiker (m/w/d)
Technische Universität Dresden
Job Summary
This position offers a unique opportunity to join the DFG-funded Research Training Group "AirMetro" at TUD Dresden University of Technology, focusing on the technological and operational integration of highly automated air transport (Innovative Air Mobility - IAM) in urban areas. The successful candidate will work on a PhD project centered on 'System-Level Impact Analysis of IAM using Agent-Based Models'. Day-to-day activities involve developing and applying IAM-related simulations within the MATSim framework and expanding behavioral choice dimensions in agent-based models, specifically incorporating destination choice alongside mode choice. The core goal is to analyze how IAM services affect travel behavior, distinguishing between shifts from existing transport modes and newly induced demand. This interdisciplinary role requires strong skills in computer science, transport modeling, and empirical data analysis, offering collaboration with international mentors and leading research institutions like DLR.
