Job Summary

This role involves joining a dedicated team in Hannover, Germany, focusing on cutting-edge genetic diagnostics within the amedes group. The Scientific Associate will be primarily responsible for generating diagnostic reports in molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics, directly contributing to individualized therapy planning for patients. Key responsibilities include analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, liquid biopsy results, and other somatic genetic analyses using modern IT systems like GePaDo, MOLIS, Varvis, and QCI. The position requires active involvement in optimizing NGS analysis pipelines, developing new analytical procedures, and ensuring all work adheres strictly to certified quality management systems (ISO 9001/ISO 15189). Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field. A doctorate (PhD) is welcome but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Expertise in molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Ability to reliably evaluate somatic variants according to WHO and Tier classification
  • Desirable: Experience in generating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options
  • Desirable: Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants
