This role involves specialized maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of sophisticated sonar, echo sounder, and underwater telephone systems used on German Navy ships, boats, and shore facilities. As an Electronics Technician, you will execute planned and unplanned maintenance, commissioning, and acceptance testing, often requiring work in confined spaces, at heights, and potentially during sea voyages. A key requirement is a completed vocational training in electronics and extensive professional experience in maintaining technical equipment, totaling at least five years. The position demands flexibility for regular, multi-day domestic and international business travel, including deployments aboard naval vessels, and a commitment to continuous professional development and training. Successful candidates must also meet specific medical fitness standards (Sea Service Suitability) and pass an enhanced security clearance (Ü2).

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, Information and Telecommunications Systems Electronics Technician, Electronics Technician for Information and System Technology, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the maintenance of technical systems and devices
  • Minimum 5 years of total professional experience in relevant activities
  • Multi-year experience in the maintenance of sonar, echo sounder, and underwater telephone systems on naval vessels (Desired)
