Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join the Institute of Electrical Energy Technology at the University of Rostock, focusing on the *VollWind* project until May 2028. The role centers on cutting-edge research and development of high-efficiency inverters for multi-megawatt wind turbines. Day-to-day tasks involve investigating innovative inverter concepts, conducting experimental and simulation-based studies on novel power semiconductors with blocking voltages exceeding 2kV, and developing complex electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, possesses excellent knowledge of power electronics, and is keen to contribute to sustainable energy solutions. You will be expected to present and discuss your research findings with project partners, making strong technical communication skills essential.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (Diplom, Master, or comparable) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or comparable fields

Experience

  • Completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or comparable fields, preferably with very good results
  • Practical experience with power semiconductors or analog and digital circuit technology is preferred
  • Minimum level of physical fitness for work in the power electronics laboratory
