Job Summary

This role involves specialized laboratory work within the Lions Corneal Bank Baden-Württemberg at the University Hospital Freiburg. The technician will be primarily responsible for the cultivation, evaluation, and processing of human corneal transplants, ensuring quality control and proper storage. Key duties also include coordinating corneal donations in collaboration with the bank coordinator, performing corneoscleral tissue harvesting from deceased donors at the university hospital and partner clinics, and preparing human amniotic membranes. Candidates must possess completed training as an MTA or BTA, strong cell culture knowledge, good IT skills, and familiarity with medical nomenclature.
