Job Summary

The Brandenburg State Police Headquarters is seeking a dedicated Chemical-Technical Assistant to join the Forensic Chemistry/Physics department in Eberswalde. This full-time, permanent position involves critical material investigation, primarily focusing on analyzing inorganic and organic micro-traces such as paints, coatings, plastics, and unknown substances. Day-to-day tasks include operating advanced analytical equipment like FT-Infrared Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy, and Pyrolysis-GC/MS, preparing trace evidence for analysis, and conducting elemental analysis using methods like RFA, REM-EDX, and XRD. The ideal candidate holds a recognized qualification as a Chemical-Technical Assistant or Laboratory Technician, possesses strong knowledge of chemical-instrumental analytics, and is proficient in microscopic techniques. This role is crucial for supporting criminal investigations and requires high concentration, excellent fine motor skills, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Required Skills

Education

State-recognized qualification as a Chemical-Technical Assistant or a Laboratory Technician with a final examination.

Experience

  • Professional experience in lab technical work and chemical-instrumental analysis
  • Experience in operating and maintaining spectroscopic and/or chromatographic devices and associated software
  • Experience in microscopic work and preparation techniques (desired)
  • Knowledge in the application of X-ray methods (desirable)

  • Must meet health requirements for working in a chemical laboratory, including good vision, color vision, and good bilateral fine motor skills of the hands.
