Job Summary

Join the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (BLKA) in Hof/Saale as an IT Security Analyst/Engineer, playing a critical role in establishing and operating the central Security Operations Center (SOC). This position is vital for monitoring and protecting the IT infrastructure of the Bavarian Police, securing data and systems for over 43,000 employees against cyber threats. Day-to-day responsibilities include operating and developing the SOC, conducting monitoring and analysis of security events using tools like SIEM, EDR, and NDR, and managing incident response, containment, and documentation. You will also perform vulnerability analyses, develop countermeasures (Threat Intelligence, Pen-Testing), and optimize detection rules and playbooks (SOAR, Content Engineering). Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Diplom (FH) degree in Computer Science, IT Security, IT Forensics, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field

Experience

Knowledge in using common security tools (e.g., SIEM, ticketing systems, EDR, SOAR)
Initial experience with forensic methods or malware analysis
