Job Summary

This is an exceptional opportunity for ten curious, young scientists to join the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI), Germany’s largest academic institution dedicated to combating infectious diseases. Successful candidates will undertake a fully funded, three-year PhD project at one of HZI's five locations across Germany, focusing on critical challenges in infection research using interdisciplinary approaches. Day-to-day work involves rigorous scientific inquiry, utilizing top-tier research infrastructure, including advanced technologies like BSL-3 facilities, cutting-edge omics platforms, and advanced imaging. Applicants must possess a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biomedical sciences such as Microbiology, Immunology, or Bioinformatics, coupled with an ambitious, innovative mindset and excellent English communication skills.
