Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig focuses on cutting-edge research into biomolecular condensates and their role in viral infections. The successful candidate will manage projects, plan, execute, and evaluate complex experiments using advanced microscopy, molecular biology, and biochemical methods (including qPCR, CRISPR/Cas, and protein purification). A key component of the role involves developing and applying complex cell models, such as organoids and spheroids, and utilizing lab automation equipment (like Biomek and Echo) to conduct high-throughput drug screens. This position is ideal for a highly motivated scientist with a PhD in Biosciences and practical experience in virology or infection research, offering significant potential for personal and professional development within an international research environment dedicated to combating infectious diseases.

Completed scientific university degree with a PhD in Biosciences or related fields

Experience

  • Professional experience in virology or general infection research
  • Very good practical experience and theoretical knowledge in cell and molecular biological methods and human cell cultivation
  • Experience in the guidance or supervision of employees (e.g., Bachelor/Master students or interns)
