Job Summary

The Climate Protection Manager will be instrumental in developing and implementing a diocesan climate protection concept, focusing on sustainability across various areas like real estate, mobility, procurement, and IT infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating energy and greenhouse gas balances, managing the project lifecycle for the concept's creation, and developing initial implementation measures. The role requires strong expertise in climate protection, energy management, and sustainability, coupled with project steering and public relations skills. This position is initially project-based and limited to two years, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, offering a unique opportunity to apply environmental expertise within a values-driven, ecclesiastical environment to drive innovative, large-scale climate initiatives.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (or equivalent qualification) in Environmental Engineering, Energy and Environmental Technology, Supply/Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental and Sustainability Science.

Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge and professional experience in climate protection, energy and environmental management, and sustainability
  • Experience in public relations and media affinity
  • Experience in project development and steering
  • Experience with ecclesiastical structures and working with volunteers (advantageous)
