Job Summary

This role involves leading the development and implementation of an integrated climate protection concept for the Diocese of Speyer, focusing on achieving a sustainable and climate-friendly future. The manager will be responsible for creating energy and greenhouse gas balances across various sectors, including real estate, mobility, procurement, and IT infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include process and project management, coordinating internal administrative tasks, organizing workshops and information events, and developing initial measures and consulting services for parishes and church institutions. This two-year fixed-term project, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, requires expertise in environmental engineering, sustainability, and project steering, offering a unique opportunity to apply specialized knowledge within a value-oriented, ecclesiastical structure.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (or equivalent qualification) in Environmental Engineering, Energy and Environmental Technology, Supply/Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental and Sustainability Science

Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge and professional experience in climate protection, energy and environmental management, and sustainability
  • Experience in public relations and media affinity
  • Experience with church structures and collaboration with volunteers is advantageous
