The Waterways and Shipping Office Neckar (WSA Neckar) is seeking a dedicated Civil or Environmental Engineering Specialist to join their team, initially on a full-time contract until December 31, 2028, with potential for subsequent part-time continuation. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and ease of ship traffic on the Neckar Federal Waterway. Day-to-day responsibilities involve assessing and managing construction projects and measures proposed by municipalities, cities, and third parties (e.g., docks, pipelines, bridge repairs). Key tasks include technically evaluating these projects, coordinating with internal departments (Hydrology, Real Estate, Maintenance, Shipping), issuing or denying necessary permits, and handling administrative agreements. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Landscape Architecture, possesses strong technical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the willingness to conduct site visits and fieldwork.
