Job Summary

This role seeks an Electrical Engineer to drive a critical infrastructure modernization project focused on renewing control, power supply, and central control systems for locks and weirs along the Neckar waterway. Day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from preliminary planning and drafting technical reports to preparing and managing public contracts (VOB/VgV) and supervising construction, acceptance, and billing. A core focus will be implementing automation, video, and remote control technology, including setting up the central control rooms in Untertürkheim and Neckarsteinach. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and possesses fluent German (C1) proficiency. Experience in automation technology (S7), network technology, and public procurement law is highly desirable. This is a vital position within the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration, offering the potential for permanent employment following the fixed-term project completion in 2033.
