Job Summary

This three-year, fixed-term position seeks an experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join the DGF-funded Collaborative Research Centre 1748, focusing on translational reproductive genetics. The primary goal is to identify and functionally characterize novel genetic causes of male infertility, particularly non-obstructive azoospermia. Daily responsibilities include planning and executing experimental work, analyzing large-scale genomic datasets using bioinformatic approaches, and characterizing genetic variants using molecular techniques like CRISPR/Cas9 in Drosophila models. The researcher will also supervise and train junior scientists (PhD, MD, Master), conceptualize new projects, and disseminate findings through publication and presentation. Required Skills

Education

Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in life sciences (e.g., Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedicine, (Bio-)Chemistry or similar)

Experience

  • Previous postdoctoral experience in molecular biology techniques and/or bioinformatic approaches with large-scale datasets
  • Strong interest in human genetics, bioinformatics, research and development in a translational setting
