Job Summary
This role involves the crucial task of maintaining and enhancing the Hessen-wide Cisco network infrastructure across multiple administrative locations (Kassel, Darmstadt, or Wiesbaden). Day-to-day responsibilities include the installation, configuration, and integration of network components to ensure seamless communication and reliable data transfer. A core focus is placed on administration, which involves analyzing and resolving network disruptions to guarantee continuous system availability and performance. The administrator will also lead or actively participate in various IT projects, contributing to the organization's digital future. Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or a comparable qualification combined with extensive practical experience in network administration. Essential technical expertise includes operating Cisco Switches and Routers, deep understanding of general network technologies like LAN/WAN, MPLS, TCP/IP, VLAN, and NAC, and ideally, knowledge of controller-based Cisco WLAN infrastructure. Experience

- Or comparable qualification with long-term practical experience in network administration and project work
- Professional experience operating Cisco Switches and Routers
- Foundational knowledge of general network technology including LAN/WAN, MPLS, TCP/IP, VLAN, and NAC
