Job Summary
The Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK), the leading federal authority for national crisis management in Germany, is seeking multiple IT Specialists to join its team in Bonn. This permanent position involves developing strategic foundations and practical implementation components for critical IT needs within civil protection and critical infrastructure protection. Day-to-day responsibilities include database management, data archiving, supporting the technical implementation of registration and reporting procedures, and assisting in the development of web applications. The role requires strong coordination skills, involving collaboration with federal, state, municipal, private, and scientific stakeholders. Candidates must hold an IT-focused university degree (Bachelor level) and demonstrate secure proficiency in web development or data processing technologies, including JavaScript, R, or Python. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to Germany's resilience against crises while benefiting from flexible working hours and mobile work options (up to 60%).
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Bachelor/FH Diploma) or near completion, with a focus on IT (e.g., Informatics, IT Security, Electrical Engineering, IT Management, or comparable relevant field).
Experience
- Professional experience in IT procurement (hardware and software), particularly in tendering procedures (Advantageous)
- Experience working in or with federal, state, or municipal authorities (Ideal)
- Professional experience in technical implementation of reporting and registration procedures
