Job Summary

This is an opportunity for an engaging professional with expertise in scientific research and practical application of optics simulation and photonics to join the Faculty of Applied Natural Sciences and Mechatronics, starting in Winter Semester 2026/27 or later. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching courses and practical labs in Technical Optics, Wave Optics, Photonics, and Physics, while actively advancing the Technical Optics laboratory. Key requirements include a university degree (preferably in Physics), demonstrated pedagogical aptitude, and significant professional experience—at least five years post-graduation, with a minimum of three years outside of academia. The role requires a candidate who is enthusiastic about teaching, research, and technology transfer, possesses strong teamwork and communication skills, and is prepared to offer courses in both German and English, contributing actively to the faculty's internationalization and self-governance.

Required Skills

Education

University degree, preferably in Physics; Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent scientific achievement; Pedagogical qualification (demonstrated via trial lectures)

Experience

  • Minimum five years of professional practice acquired after university graduation
  • Minimum three years of professional practice outside of the higher education sector (or equivalent cooperation experience)
  • Experience in scientific work demonstrated by a doctorate or equivalent achievement
