Job Summary

This role involves joining the Vehicle Engineering team in Berlin to design and launch next-generation automotive products, focusing specifically on Safety & Restraints systems. The Mechanical Design Engineer will own all aspects of airbag and restraint systems, from conceptual design and production release through to in-service vehicle life and quality concerns. Key responsibilities include supporting system integration, coordinating engineering changes for Safety & Restraints commodities, and collaborating with global teams and suppliers through RFQ, DVP, and DFMEA/FMA stages. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of relevant automotive or manufacturing experience, a good understanding of vehicle safety restraint systems, and technical expertise in mechanical aptitude and problem-solving. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage complex projects under tight deadlines, and proficiency in CAD and MS Office Suite, contributing significantly to Tesla's aggressive targets for passive safety performance.

Experience
