Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to join the Vehicle Engineering team in Berlin, focusing on designing and developing the next generation of cutting-edge automotive products, specifically within Closures Engineering. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, engineering, and launching closure components (including structural panels, mechanisms, sealing, and glazing) for Tesla vehicle product lines. Day-to-day tasks involve establishing system architecture, achieving targets for quality, cost, and weight, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure world-class execution of exterior craftsmanship. Candidates should possess a background in mechanical engineering, proficiency in engineering tools like DFMEA and GD&T, and knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping and injection molding. This position requires a self-starter with a passion for innovation and the ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and manage external suppliers, contributing to exciting automotive programs globally.
