Job Summary

This role involves driving the county's sustainability goals by developing and implementing a strategy to achieve climate neutrality for all county properties. The Energy Management Officer, working part-time (60%), will be responsible for expanding the existing energy management system, which includes comprehensive data collection (heat, electricity, water) and monthly controlling. Key duties include producing an annual energy report for governing bodies, detailing the economic impact of savings, and actively participating in the execution of energy optimization and refurbishment projects. The position also requires managing photovoltaic (PV) systems, developing new energy storage solutions (e.g., battery storage), and leading user training and awareness initiatives regarding energy consumption. Candidates must hold an engineering degree in a relevant field and possess fundamental experience in building services operations and energy management systems (DIN 50001).

Required Skills

Education

Completed Engineering degree (B.Eng./Dipl.-Ing.) in Energy, Supply, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Fundamental knowledge in the operation of building services systems
  • Fundamental knowledge in control, regulation, and building management technology
  • Experience in setting up and operating an Energy Management System (DIN 50001)
  • Ideally, initial practical experience in project and network work
