Job Summary

The City of Jena is seeking an experienced Application Architect to join their municipal IT operations (KITT). This role is crucial for analyzing, evaluating, and designing future-proof system and application architectures for approximately 2,000 municipal workplaces. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for assessing existing IT landscapes regarding security, scalability, and maintainability, developing target architectures, and creating integration concepts based on defined standards. A core focus is on standardizing and consolidating the application landscape, implementing APIs, Microservices, or Event-Driven architectures, and ensuring compliance with security and data protection standards. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Computer Science or a related field, several years of experience in application system architecture and integration (including ERP, Middleware, and BI systems), and strong skills in stakeholder management and cross-departmental collaboration.
