Job Summary

This role involves the strategic analysis, design, and optimization of the IT application landscape for the City of Jena's municipal IT department (KITT). As a Software and Information Systems Architect, you will be responsible for evaluating existing system architectures, identifying redundancies, and developing target architectures that prioritize security, scalability, and maintainability. Your day-to-day work includes planning APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures, as well as coordinating data integration strategies across 140 locations. You will act as a technical lead, translating complex business requirements into technical solutions while managing stakeholders across various departments and external partners. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy bridging the gap between high-level strategy and technical implementation. Required Skills

Education

University degree in (Business) Informatics, Administrative Informatics, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the architecture, integration, or standardization of application systems.
  • Proven experience in designing application landscapes, interface development (API, SQL), and automation.
  • Professional experience in cross-departmental collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in technical project management and coordinating architecture projects.
  • Practical knowledge of IT security, data protection, and archiving requirements.
