Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Researcher role at the Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) involves pioneering research in quantum algorithms tailored for complex fluid and environmental flow modeling. The primary responsibilities include the independent development and rigorous analysis of mathematical and numerical methods for partial differential equations. The successful candidate will design and implement advanced algorithms, focusing on variational and optimization-based approaches, and adapt these methodologies for hybrid classical–quantum computing environments. Essential qualifications include a completed PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics, coupled with strong expertise in numerical analysis, PDEs, and scientific software development using Python. This position offers the opportunity to drive scientific publications, engage in project coordination and mentoring, and contribute to a vibrant, international research community dedicated to solving major societal challenges.
