Job Summary

This PhD position, funded for three years within the EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network RAPTORplus, focuses on assessing and improving online adaptive proton therapy (OAPT) workflows. The successful candidate will strengthen the connection between the ProtOnART consortium and RAPTORplus, focusing heavily on enhancing OAPT workflow efficiency in Dresden, particularly time reduction and automation of treatment session documentation. Key responsibilities include research on automated decision support systems for online adaptation, considering economic and clinical factors, and developing novel, fast treatment plan optimization strategies. This role requires a Master's degree in Physics or related fields, strong analytical and programming skills, and a willingness to travel for secondments to clinical and industry partners across Europe, providing a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of academia, clinic, and industry.
