Job Summary

This doctoral position focuses on the experimental analysis of radionuclide sorption kinetics on layer silicates, contributing to the scientific foundation for safety assessments of deep geological repositories. The successful candidate will design and execute radiotracer experiments in colloidal and coarse-dispersed adsorption systems, utilizing colloid-analytical methods and spatially-resolved surface analysis techniques like interference microscopy and autoradiography. This role is part of an interdisciplinary, federally funded joint project that includes a structured graduate school program. Key qualifications include a Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Geosciences, experience in experimental and analytical work, and excellent written and spoken English skills. The role requires a conscientious and highly motivated individual capable of interdisciplinary collaboration and working with open radioactive substances in a radiation-controlled laboratory environment, culminating in the publication and presentation of research findings.
