Job Summary

This role is for an R&D Synthesis Processes Scientist focused on complex organic synthesis, particularly within Nucleic Acid and Oligonucleotide Chemistry. The daily tasks involve independently running established synthesis processes, planning, executing, isolating, purifying (using techniques like RP-HPLC and IEX), and characterizing synthesized molecules for test development. A critical component is ensuring all processes comply with strict internal and external guidelines regarding quality management, occupational safety, and environmental protection for successful commercialization transfers. The successful candidate will document and interpret R&D results, develop novel solutions, and monitor the state-of-the-art in preparatory chemistry. This position is attractive as it offers the chance to lead complex chemical projects, contribute to product documentation (SOPs, safety data sheets), and potentially support the team lead in project management tasks, requiring strong communication and mentoring skills alongside a Master's degree (with experience) or a PhD in Organic Chemistry.
