Job Summary

This role involves the new development and continuous enhancement of IT-based safety-critical systems within railway infrastructure technology, focusing particularly on the European Train Control System (ETCS). The specialist will lead the specification of requirements (use cases/functions) for computer-based railway signaling, ensuring alignment with operational demands and strategic system architecture. Day-to-day tasks include acting as the technical interface between functional subsystems, coordinating integration, and ensuring accurate interface specifications across the supersystem landscape. Key responsibilities also encompass reviewing supplier specifications, managing system acceptance testing, and representing the department in international standardization bodies (TSI CCS). The ideal candidate possesses a technical university degree or equivalent education in fields like Informatics or Electrical Engineering, coupled with experience in safety-critical systems, IT networks, and IT security. Strong analytical skills, initiative, and fluent English are essential for success in this high-responsibility, permanent position.
