Job Summary

This critical role involves managing and securing the energy supply for Deutsche Bahn's extensive infrastructure, including overhead lines, signaling systems, and stations, ensuring safe and continuous rail operations. Day-to-day tasks include guaranteeing the availability of all 50Hz and 16.7Hz railway power supply assets, actively troubleshooting and resolving system faults, and performing reliable, customer-focused operational management. A core responsibility is the independent execution, monitoring, and logging of high-voltage switching operations. Candidates must hold an IHK Master Craftsman or Technician qualification in Electrical Engineering, or possess significant professional experience in the field with a commitment to obtaining the Master qualification. Knowledge of 15kV rail power grid operation, switchgear, and protection technology is advantageous. The position requires strong responsibility, teamwork, and readiness for 3-shift work, including weekends and holidays.

Required Skills

Education

IHK Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician (Techniker) degree in Electrical Engineering. Alternatively, completed vocational training in the electrical engineering field.

Experience

  • Multi-year professional experience in the electrical engineering field (if not holding Master/Technician qualification)
  • Professional knowledge in railway power supply (e.g., 15kV rail power grid operation, overhead lines, switchgear technology) (Beneficial)
  • Readiness to acquire further qualifications (e.g., switching authorization)
  • Readiness to work in a 3-shift system (including weekends and holidays) after internal qualification
