Job Summary

This Senior Project Engineer role involves leading and managing complex infrastructure projects focused on modernizing and maintaining the rail network, specifically centered around the Frankfurt Airport Electronic Interlocking System (ESTW). Day-to-day responsibilities include the technical and content management of all project phases, particularly concerning signaling and safety technology, telecommunications, and electrical power systems. The successful candidate will act as the client/owner, managing approval processes, coordinating all project stakeholders, handling tendering and contract management (HOAI, VOB, VOL, BGB), and ensuring strict adherence to cost, schedule, and quality standards. This position requires a background in engineering (railway, electrical, civil, or industrial) and extensive professional experience in project management within complex railway construction projects, offering a unique opportunity to shape critical infrastructure within one of Germany's largest engineering firms.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Railway Construction, Railway Operations, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Consolidated professional experience in project management
  • Experience in railway construction
  • Experience working on complex interlocking system construction projects
  • Knowledge of project service phases according to HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers)
  • Experience in agile project management
