Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained at the Philippsburg interim storage facility for radioactive waste. The Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the Object Security Service (OSD) operations, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and site regulations, and reporting anomalies to the Security Officer. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring operational processes, resolving technical and operational disruptions in safety and security systems, and acting as a competent person according to Fire Service Regulation 500. The manager will also coordinate external emergency services (fire department, rescue services) during alarms, initiate first aid measures for injuries, and potentially take on additional roles like Safety Officer or contribute to operational documentation. The ideal candidate holds a Master Craftsman or Technician qualification in a technical field like Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, possesses strong organizational skills, and is prepared for shift work in a critical infrastructure environment.

Required Skills

Education

Master Craftsman or Technician qualification in a technical training profession (preferably Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communications Technology/IT, or Mechatronics)

Experience

  • Professional experience as a Master Craftsman or Technician in a technical discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics)
  • Experience in monitoring and controlling security service operations
  • Experience in clarifying technical and operational disruptions
  • Experience in acquiring technical expertise according to the Interim Storage Expert Knowledge Guideline
