Job Summary

This role involves supporting the 'Histone Methyltransferase KMT9' research group at the German Consortium for Translational Cancer Research (DKTK) in Freiburg, focusing on epigenetic control and transcriptional regulation related to human diseases. The Technical Assistant will be deeply involved in modern molecular genetics and cell biology, performing and analyzing experiments using state-of-the-art techniques. Key responsibilities include molecular biology tasks like DNA cloning and PCR, protein biochemistry (Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation), sample preparation for mass spectrometry, and genome editing on cell lines. The ideal candidate holds a professional qualification as an MTA, BTA, or CTA, possesses a high degree of motivation, and has experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and proteomics. Education

Completed professional training as a Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), or Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA)

Experience

  • Experience in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (advantageous)

  • Experience in human cell cultures and microscopy (desirable)
