Job Summary
This is a senior leadership opportunity to head the Building and Environment Department within the Trier-Saarburg District Administration, a growing economic region strategically located in the heart of Europe near Luxembourg. The Head will manage and lead the entire department, which is structured into two key subdivisions: Building (focused on permits and regulatory procedures) and Environment (covering nature conservation, water management, and immission control). Daily responsibilities include organizational and personnel steering, managing the 'Building' subdivision, handling complex legal processing of building applications, representing the department in district council meetings, and overseeing the departmental budget and financial planning. Candidates must hold specific high-level qualifications, such as a successfully completed law degree or relevant administrative career path examinations (3rd entry level or 2nd municipal exam). The role requires several years of professional experience in public administration, strong leadership skills, and the ability to handle legal disputes.
