Job Summary
This is a full-time, permanent position for an Administrative Specialist within the Information Technology Department of the Trier-Saarburg District Administration. The role focuses heavily on financial and procurement administration, including preparing payment orders and instructions, processing installment invoices after planner review, and handling procurement documentation with respect to public tender law. Key responsibilities also involve supporting budget planning and monitoring, managing purchasing logistics (ordering, goods receipt, inventory), and maintaining comprehensive documentation of existing contracts. Candidates must possess a relevant administrative or commercial qualification, foundational IT knowledge, and preferably experience with budgetary and double-entry accounting law (Doppik). The position requires a self-reliant, structured, and goal-oriented approach, along with strong communication and social skills, offering a stable role in a growing European region.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as an Administrative Assistant (Verwaltungsfachangestellte) OR completion of the First Examination for Employees in Municipal Administrative and Treasury Services OR completed three-year commercial training (or comparable qualification) combined with the willingness to complete Administrative Course I and the subsequent First Examination.
Experience
- Professional experience in administrative or commercial roles
- Experience in preparing payment orders and processing invoices
- Experience in handling procurement documentation and procedures

- Must be willing to participate in Administrative Course I and pass the subsequent First Examination for Employees in Municipal Administrative and Treasury Services if entering with a commercial qualification.
