Job Summary

Join the Federal Office of Administration (BVA) as an Application Manager, contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of critical IT applications, particularly those supporting public security and EU initiatives like Smart Borders. You will drive technical evolution, manage integration into BVA's infrastructure, and oversee deployments, acting as a key liaison between external developers, testers, and internal stakeholders. This role involves ensuring IT security, performing third-level support, and continuously monitoring application maturity. Working in agile teams, you'll take on significant responsibility for complex software systems, leveraging modern technologies like DevOps, NoSQL, Kubernetes, AngularJS, and Continuous Integration, alongside classic Java web applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and contribute to high-impact digital solutions within a federal agency.

Required Skills

Education

Completed IHK vocational training as an IT Specialist (focus on Application Development or System Integration) OR University degree (minimum Bachelor's) in Computer Science or a related field

Experience

  • Professional experience in agile software development (minimum 1 year if holding a non-IT degree)
  • Professional experience in software development (minimum 2 years, e.g., with Java, Linux, databases, or DevOps)
