Job Summary

This role involves shaping the future of cybersecurity in civil aviation for Germany's federal cybersecurity authority. The successful candidate will analyze and harmonize national and international regulatory requirements (e.g., AVSEC, EASA Part-IS, NIS-2), lead interdisciplinary projects to enhance cybersecurity, and prepare complex information for various stakeholders. This position requires close collaboration with federal ministries and the German Federal Aviation Office on strategic cybersecurity topics. The officer will also be responsible for developing and refining support offerings for regulated organizations, continuously expanding their expertise in security-relevant developments like U-Space and digital aviation technologies. It's an opportunity to contribute to a critical and rapidly evolving field, ensuring a secure digital future for Germany.

Required Skills

Education

University Diploma (Uni)/Master's degree in Economics, Administrative Sciences, Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, IT Security, Physics, Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT Management, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable relevant field with an IT or Aviation focus.

Experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience in cybersecurity or air traffic (ideally aviation security) is desirable
  • Experience in strategic work and process improvement
  • Experience in interdisciplinary project leadership

Additional

  • Willingness to participate in further training and occasional, multi-day business trips. Consent to an extended security clearance check (SÜG § 9) is required, which must not result in a security risk. For foreign educational qualifications, proof of equivalence with a German degree from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
