Job Summary
The University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD) is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join its IT department (D05-IKMT) focused on information and communication technology and medical technology. This role involves the comprehensive administration and maintenance of critical hospital information system (HIS) servers and central systems based on various databases, including Oracle, SAPDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Key responsibilities include ensuring operational stability, performing installations and migrations, coordinating external vendors, and independently managing infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience, strong expertise in Oracle DB and Oracle RAC, and proficiency in SQL. This position offers flexible working hours (38.5 hours/week), structured onboarding, and benefits typical of the public sector.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable field, or successfully completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) or comparable knowledge and experience.
Experience
- Professional experience with standard databases, focusing on Oracle DB and Oracle RAC
- Experience with database backup (RMAN) and database migrations
- Experience in the execution of IT projects (Advantageous)
- Experience in Windows Unix/Linux administration (Advantageous)
