Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing scientific computing and data requirements, developing suitable HPC and Cloud-based solutions, and optimizing scientific applications through numerics, parallelization, profiling, and debugging. The engineer will also be responsible for migrating research environments to state resources, advancing HPC/Cloud/Storage services, and integrating new technologies such as AI/ML, accelerators, and containers. Key qualifications include a university degree (Master/Diploma) in Informatics or related fields, programming experience in scripting or higher-level languages (Python, R, C++, Java), and strong German and English skills.
