Job Summary

This role involves providing comprehensive medical physics and technical support within the Nuclear Medicine Clinic, including its satellite locations. The expert will be instrumental in the application of ionizing radiation for patient diagnostics and therapy, focusing on dosimetry, radiation protection calculations, and treatment planning. Key responsibilities also include quality assurance and optimization of advanced imaging techniques like SPECT, PET/CT/MR, and managing IT tasks related to RIS/PACS. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical physics or physics, with practical experience in nuclear medicine, and a keen understanding of hybrid imaging. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma / Master) in Medical Physics / Physics. Expertise in Radiation Protection (Medical Physics Expert according to Radiation Protection Guideline in Medicine or according to Expert Knowledge Guideline StrlSchV) is preferred, but can be acquired during employment.

Experience

  • Practical experience in medical physics, especially in nuclear medicine, is advantageous
  • Knowledge in hybrid imaging procedures (especially PET/CT/MR and SPECT/CT), dosimetry, medical radiation protection, and gamma spectroscopy is desirable

Additional

  • Limited to 2 years from the start date (fixed-term contract without factual reason according to §14 Abs. 2 TzBfG). A certificate according to §23a Infektionsschutzgesetz (IfSG) regarding vaccination and serostatus for measles is required. Not suitable for candidates previously employed by Universitätsklinikum Essen under fixed-term contracts without factual reason.
