This role involves the operation and maintenance of five geo-redundant data centers, focusing heavily on virtualized environments using VMware vSphere, Veeam, and potentially Proxmox. Key daily tasks include configuring, deploying, and administering virtual machines and networks, executing backup and recovery procedures using Veeam, and performing continuous system performance monitoring and capacity planning to ensure optimal availability. The engineer will be responsible for identifying and resolving infrastructure issues and collaborating with security teams to implement best practices.
