Job Summary

The Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) is seeking an Information Security and IT Baseline Protection Officer to join their team in Frankfurt a.M. or Leipzig on a 5-year fixed-term contract. This crucial role involves developing and implementing strategic and operational information security objectives, and designing and advancing initiatives for the Information Security Management System (ISMS), security processes, and safeguards. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing and assessing digitalization projects and attack vectors for cyber and information security implications, coordinating the implementation of IT Baseline Protection (IT-Grundschutz) measures, and acting as a deputy for the Chief Information Security Officer. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in IT Management, Informatics, or a related field, possess strong experience in information security and cyber defense, and be prepared to undergo a successful security clearance (SÜ 2). The position requires excellent organizational skills, a structured working approach, and fluent German communication (B1 level or higher).

Completed Master's degree (M.Sc., University) in IT Management, Informatics, IT Security, Cyber Security, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Experience and fundamental advanced training in information security and cyber defense
  • Knowledge in emergency management, data protection, and quality management
  • Knowledge in Critical Infrastructure and risk analysis
  • Professional experience is advantageous
  • Experience in project management is advantageous
