Job Summary

This role is a crucial entry point into the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy's new Cybersecurity Center (SOC), focusing on Tier 1 threat detection and intelligence. The specialist will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of security infrastructure and analyzing log data using SIEM and EDR systems. Key daily tasks include analyzing alerts, prioritizing and escalating security incidents to the Tier 2 Incident Response team, and identifying attack patterns and vulnerabilities using established frameworks. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity, or possesses a vocational qualification as an IT Specialist for System Integration with at least four years of relevant professional experience. This position requires foundational knowledge in network security and operating systems, basic scripting skills, and a willingness to undergo a security clearance.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (FH/Bachelor) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or another IT-related field with a focus on Cybersecurity, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration.

Experience

  • Experience in handling SIEM or EDR solutions
  • Professional experience in the vocational field of at least four years (if applying with vocational training)
