Job Summary

This role involves the administration and operation of crucial Security Operations Center (SOC) tools within the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining a suite of security tools, including EDR/XDR, SOAR, TIP, Log-Collector, and IDS/IPS. Key daily tasks include agent and sensor management, patch and release management, and establishing/maintaining robust role and authorization management systems, alongside certificate administration. The position requires collaboration with the general IT operations team and the creation and updating of technical documentation and operating manuals. Candidates must possess a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent vocational training plus four years of relevant professional experience, coupled with strong knowledge of security tools, networking fundamentals, and scripting basics. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work in a critical cybersecurity center in Frankfurt a.M., Wettzell, or Leipzig.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or another IT-related field with a focus on Cybersecurity, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in system and platform administration
  • Knowledge of common security tools and their integration
  • Experience with configuration management
  • Minimum of four years of professional experience in the specified job profile (if holding vocational training qualification)
