Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of critical IT services for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) as part of a significant digitalization partner. The Senior System Engineer will focus on application operations and system administration, specifically within the ITSM and Automation frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as the operations manager for IT infrastructure, managing installations, testing, and implementing software and configuration changes while ensuring compliance with information security standards. A core part of the job involves monitoring system performance and logs, developing optimization strategies, and handling changes, incidents, and problems in accordance with ITIL processes. Candidates must possess a strong IT background, extensive experience in IT infrastructure management, and proficiency with server operating systems, GitLab/GitOps, and Kubernetes/OpenShift/Argo CD. This position is full-time and permanent, based in Munich, Berlin, or Bonn, requiring national travel readiness and strong German and English language skills.
