Job Summary
The successful candidate will join the University Hospital Münster (UKM) as a Research Associate in Medical Informatics, working full-time on the innovative "KIMONA" project until the end of 2028. This crucial role focuses on leveraging modern Medical Informatics methods and Artificial Intelligence to streamline and automate cancer registration processes, significantly reducing manual documentation effort and sustainably improving data quality for oncological care. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting research in an interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with clinical partners and external software companies, analyzing requirements, and designing and implementing interfaces between Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and research databases. The role requires applying, training, and evaluating externally developed AI tools. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Informatics, Medical Informatics, or Business Informatics, possess strong knowledge of database systems, and be familiar with medical data standards like FHIR and HL7.
