Job Summary

This permanent, full-time IT Technician role supports cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence and Trustworthy Language Technologies within the Research Alliance Ruhr. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of IT infrastructure, including the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of diverse software and hardware environments, notably a cluster environment, across Linux, macOS, iOS, and Windows operating systems. Key duties involve managing specialized software for GPU computing (e.g., CUDA) and deep learning (e.g., PyTorch), administering network services (HTTP, DNS, DHCP), virtualization (Docker, VMware), and scripting using Bash and Python for monitoring and automation. The position requires strong technical proficiency, excellent communication skills in both German and English to provide technical support, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A background in IT or Computer Science, coupled with professional experience in the IT sector, is highly advantageous, making this an excellent opportunity for both seasoned professionals and qualified young specialists.
