Job Summary

This research position involves the development and application of fluorescent sensors for immunologically relevant signaling molecules within the research group of Prof. Sebastian Kruss. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of nanotechnology and immunology, chemically modifying nanomaterials to recognize specific signaling molecules. Day-to-day responsibilities include characterizing these biosensors using advanced fluorescence microscopy and using them to investigate how immune cells process chemical information. Furthermore, the role focuses on optimizing these sensors for practical use in biomedical diagnostics, such as monitoring immune system responses during tumor therapies. This position is particularly attractive for researchers looking to combine fundamental biophysical chemistry with high-impact medical applications. It offers a 3-year fixed-term contract at 67% of a full-time position, providing a structured environment for pursuing a doctoral degree while contributing to cutting-edge research in optical methods and molecular recognition.
