Job Summary
The IT.SERVICES department at Ruhr University is seeking a full-time, permanent Service Technician to support and advance the infrastructure for electronically supported examinations across the campus, which includes approximately 470 workstations. This role involves the technical and organizational oversight of computer-based exams, ensuring consistent and reliable testing environments. Day-to-day tasks include the maintenance, organization, and development of PC pool areas, application-oriented design of client systems, and implementation of operational models. The ideal candidate must have a completed apprenticeship as an IT Specialist, ideally with professional experience in system administration, and possess strong knowledge of Windows and macOS desktop administration, PC client hardware, and virtualization technologies like VMware VDI. Success in this role requires strong conceptual skills, a systematic approach to deployment and client management, excellent service orientation, and proficiency in both German and English.
