Job Summary

This role involves actively shaping applied research within a highly modern technology environment at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS). The Microtechnology Specialist will be responsible for the independent planning, preparation, and execution of substrate processing on manufacturing equipment, focusing specifically on dry etching and metrology. Day-to-day tasks include ensuring the timely and quality-assured processing of wafers and components in R&D and pilot production projects, rigorous documentation in MES/ERP systems, and conducting independent measurements and analysis. The ideal candidate has completed vocational training, preferably in microtechnology or a related technical/chemical field, brings initial experience in the semiconductor sector, and is prepared to work in a 3-shift system while maintaining strict cleanroom and safety standards. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training (Berufsausbildung), ideally with a chemical or technical background, preferably in Microtechnology, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Initial experience in the semiconductor sector
  • Knowledge in dry etching and metrology is ideal
  • Experience in handling MES/ERP systems is ideal
  • Professional experience working in a cleanroom environment

Additional
