Job Summary

This role is for an applied researcher focused on shaping the framework for trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI) by driving the technical implementation of regulatory requirements, specifically the European AI Act. The expert will analyze regulations, standards (like ISO/DIN), and guidelines to develop AI testing procedures and certification processes. Key responsibilities include translating regulatory demands into practical processes for AI governance, risk management, and quality assurance, often collaborating with interdisciplinary teams of data scientists, lawyers, and psychologists to implement the EU AI Act for major industrial clients. The position also involves designing and implementing automation solutions for AI governance within existing corporate processes, providing specialized training on AI Governance, Risk, and Compliance, and taking technical leadership for specific work packages or projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in science, law, or business, excellent analytical skills, and prior knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI standards.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master, Diploma) in Economics, Law, Political Science, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics with an excellent grade from an internationally renowned university

Experience

  • Prior knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence
  • Ideally, prior knowledge of the European AI Act and existing AI standards
  • Ideally, prior knowledge in areas such as risk management, compliance, data protection, IT security, audit, or product quality management
  • Professional experience in conceptual work and abstract thinking
